We have a low minimum order of 50 rolls/design for the CMYK printing washi tape and foil washi tape. This means if you are ordering 100 rolls you can print 2 designs. If you want less quantity,pls talk with us,it will be OK for the a bit more price.
We recommend designing your washi tapes using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.
Washi tape files need to fit the following template requirements:
(1)CMYK printing tape
WIDTH: 350mm
RESOLUTION: 300dpi
COLOUR PROFILE: CMYK
(2)Foil+CMYK printing tape
WIDTH: 250mm
RESOLUTION: 300dpi
COLOUR PROFILE: CMYK
More layer for foil
The HEIGHT of your washi tape file will be your finished washi tape size (e.g. 15mm) + a 1.75 mm OUTER BLEED top & bottom. This means for a 15mm wide tape your design file will be 18.5 mm tall. The outer bleed ensures the background of your design goes right to the edge of the tape. Please also allow a 1.8mm INNER BLEED top & bottom. The inner bleed allows for any variance in where the tape is trimmed, please make sure none of your key design elements extend into the bleed area.
Your design will repeat every 350mm along the 10 metre length of the tape, please ensure your pattern repeat is correct.
For washi tapes, your original Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator file with layers is preferred. We can also print from a high resolution PDF. Please note that if you’re providing an original file that contains font-based text, please ensure all fonts are first converted to outlines to avoid any unexpected font changes. JPG or PNG files are not suitable for washi tape printing.
You can get an Adobe Illustrator template from us. The template is set for 15mm wide washi tape or the other sizes you want.
Washi tape label specifications are:
DIAMETER: 42mm (finished label size) + 1.5mm outer bleed(45mm for designing)
RESOLUTION: 300dpi
COLOUR PROFILE: CMYK

Washi tape is a decorative paper masking tape. It is easy to tear by hand and can be stuck on many surfaces including paper, plastic & metal. Because it is not super sticky it can easily be removed without causing damage. Washi tape has a slight translucence and can be used for many creative purposes such as sticking things to walls, sealing envelopes & packaging, home decoration projects, and all manner of paper-based projects.
Yes, you can expect your finished washi tapes to look a little different in colour to your digital proof. This is because the colours you view on your computer screen are RGB colours while washi tapes are printed using CMYK colours. We usually find that the colours on your screen will be a little more vibrant than on the printed washi tapes.
